with Nick Ingham
We are pleased to have Nick Ingham on board, a seasoned Level 3 LTA and USPTB certified coach, who is eager to organize individual or group lessons for both adults and juniors.
Nick's lifelong passion for tennis began at the tender age of 6 when he first picked up a racket at Knowle Hill. Since then, he has dedicated his life to the sport, obtaining qualifications as an LTA Level 3 coach and a USPTR Instructor.
Throughout his 30-year coaching career, Nick has worked with private member clubs and private schools, gaining a wealth of experience. His journey started with an 18-month apprenticeship at Foxhills Tennis and Country Club, where he later spent a year as an assistant coach.
He then transitioned to David Lloyd's Heston as a club professional, collaborating with former top-level professional players on club events. Nick's role expanded when he was appointed as a junior tennis administrator, responsible for developing the junior tennis programme.
After 11 years, Nick joined St George's Hill Tennis Club as the junior tennis development coach. There, he advanced the structure of junior tennis at the prestigious club while providing group and individual lessons to both adults and children.
Subsequently, Nick became the Head Coach at Surrey Sports Park, Guildford. He successfully built a club with 100 members and established a coaching programme that catered to 150 participants. Alongside managing a team of four coaches, he was responsible for the student tennis programme and coordinated social and BUCS matches.
For the past 25 years, Nick has coached at St George's School Ascot, offering individual and group lessons. He has also worked with numerous other schools, such as Woodcote House, St John's Beaumont, and Sir William Perkins.
Returning to his roots, Nick expressed gratitude to Knowle Hill for igniting his love for tennis. With the unwavering support of the committee, he helped create a coaching programme at the club that now engages 50 juniors and maintains an active social calendar.
Witnessing the growth of such a friendly, community-based club has been a rewarding experience for Nick, who continues to share his passion for tennis with others.
